How long have you been with RJE, and what’s your role in one sentence?
Since March 2025 — I build office furniture and help guide RJE employees and subcontractors to finish projects on time.
What led you to RJE?
I was a sub-contractor working on and off with RJE from January 2022 – February 2025. During that time, I was learning a lot (from the head installers) and enjoyed the people who worked there. This lead to me wanting to continue on with the team.
What’s a project or moment at RJE that’s stuck with you—and why?
One morning, during an early start, Bill Pennington was our install supervisor on the job. Someone sitting next to Bill was eating a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast (I promise all these details are important), smacking their lips loudly while eating.
Bill asked, “how’s your sandwich?”
They responded, “pretty good.”
Bill said, “sounds delicious!”
Hilarious. It’s one of the best things about this team – positive attitudes no matter the circumstances.
What do you look forward to most in your workday at RJE?
Saying “good morning” to all the crews.
If RJE were a person, how would you describe them?
Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is strong and has plans to get even stronger. “I pick things up and put them down!”
How do you personally bring “hug your customer” to life?
I always ask if they have any questions or concerns about any of the furniture while we’re there.
What elements make a space inspiring to you? Color? Flow? Light? Something else?
Strong boundaries, open space to allow clear communication, and a little visual variety to keep things from being too sterile. A simple and structured space brings me to a place of inspiration.
What’s your signature style when working with clients or partners?
Similar to DoorDash, I try to be accommodating to their site restrictions and deliver what they want in a timely, friendly manner.
What is your current favorite product from Allsteel and its portfolio of brands?
The Gunlocke Briefing — a small, circle conference table with a square base.
Why that one?
Easy to build and looks great. Reminds me of a hamburger from Wendy’s.

Kayaking, skating, and small road trips.

If you had a secret superpower at work, what would it be?
Stop time. This would make putting a plan together and meeting deadlines a lot easier.

If you could swap roles with someone at RJE for a day, who would it be and why?
I would swap with Bill Pennington, so we could get Bill back out in the field. I really enjoyed Bill’s supervisorial approach on projects. I would love to learn more [from him] that I never caught while he was in the field. It would also be fun to see how I would do coordinating people, products, site conditions, and timelines. It’s a lot of layers and weight to sort and balance.
